A typical Nkamba Day

  • 05.30 Wake up to the sound of the hippos talking and the hornbills trumpeting. Watch the beautiful African morning reveal itself while enjoying your first cup of tea or coffee delivered to your room.

  • 06.00 Enjoy a light breakfast of toast and cereal or fruit to start the day.

  • 06.30 Plan your day! Perhaps a gentle canoe trip across the bay and walk through the rain forest – you may be able to photograph the rare sitatunga antelope on your walk – or for the adventurous fishermen, tackle up, take a well-stocked cool box and fish for nile perch or nkupi on the lake.

  • For those wanting tranquillity, just enjoy the quiet – take out those binoculars and watch the African bush come to life.

  • 10.30 Time to tuck in to a substantial brunch to get you through the day.

  • 12.30 What to do this afternoon! What a lovely dilemma. A game drive in an open landrover perhaps, a lazy afternoon with your favourite book. Relax by the pool. Perhaps for those fishermen amongst you a few tips from our resident fly fishing expert.

  • 16.00 Afternoon tea and homemade cake. An afternoon game drive or walk, or some bottom fishing for those who want to try the easy way to catch fish.

  • 19.00 Time to unwind, meet at the Insololo bar to share the experiences of the day with your friends.

  • 19.30 Candlelit dinner whilst listening to the sounds of Africa.

  • And so to bed! Sleep soundly and another amazing African day awaits you,
